Lady of leisure

I've quit my job and decided I wanted to become a lady of leisure! I've got three more weeks left in my current position and loads to do before I leave. I can't wait till 5.30pm on the 8th April 2011 when I can walk out of work and not worry about coming back on Monday morning. No more Sunday blues, no more Monday morning panic attacks and no more mid week breakdowns.

This is what I am going to do all day when I am at home :)

And I will be going to the gym (in case Mr M reads this post) because I dont think either one of us would be happy if I ended up looking like this, minus all the hair. But then again she does look pretty cute, hena?

Sisters

Over the weekend I spent some time talking to a friend who had recently lost her sister to cancer. I listened to my friend talk about her sister and the last two amazing weeks they  had spent together before her sister passed away. My friend spoke of how her sister was the best sister she could have ever asked for and how she is so thankful to Allah SWT for letting her have had such a loving and loyal best friend. I have a sister of my own and even though we don't see each other everyday we still turn to each other for advice about the smallest things from what colour hijaab to buy to what to do in an awkward situation. I know my sister always has my best interest at heart and would never advise me wrongly and that if no one else was standing by me when times were tough she would always be there.

So for all of you out there who are lucky enough to have a sister make sure you apreciate each and every second with your sister because time flies by you so fast that before you even have the chance to look back at the good times it might just be too late.

Please make sure you remember my friend in your duas and make a special dua that her sister is granted a place in Jannat e Firdous and for Allah SWT to give her family patience and strength to deal with the huge loss.

Shopping..........

My sister and I went shopping on Oxford Street yesterday, she was looking for a dress and I was just there to help her find one. I ended up buying five hijaabs from new look , all on sale. They were originally £8 and I got them for £3 each, bargain!

Ill show you the hijaabs as and when I wear them, today I am wearing my favourite one.

I also spotted some other items that I really liked the look of,  I'm liking the very wide leg trousers, I think they look so cool/elegant/funky and they can be dressed up with a blouse or dressed down with a tshirt.

Miss Selfridges had some really nice ones;

Wide leg- camel colour

I also spotted a grey skirt, I sooo want the skirt!

HIgh waisted maxi skirt

I think I might need to make another trip to Oxford Street very soon :)

The husband store

A store that sells husbands has just opened in Nairobi, where a woman may go to choose a husband. Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store operates. You may visit the store ONLY ONCE!
There are six floors and the attributes of the men increase as the shopper ascends the flights. There is, however, a catch . You may choose any man from a particular floor, or you may choose to go up a floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!
So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband...
On the first floor the sign on the door reads: Floor 1 - These men have jobs and love the Lord.
The second floor sign reads: Floor 2 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, and love kids.
The third floor sign reads: Floor 3 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, and are extremely good looking.
"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.
She goes to the fourth floor and sign reads: Floor 4 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop-dead good looking and help with the housework.
"Oh mercy me" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!" Still, she goes to the fifth floor and sign reads: Floor 5 - These men have jobs, love the Lord, love kids, are drop-dead gorgeous, help with the housework, and have a strong romantic streak.
She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor and the sign reads: Floor 6 - You are visitor 4,363,012 to this floor. There are no men on this floor. This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.
Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store. Watch your step as you exit the building, and have a nice day!

Moral:Realize that true happiness lies within you. Waste no time and effort searching for peace, contentment and joy in the world outside. inshAllah
